As I was pondering the topic of diversity today, I ran across some really cool BLOGS written by some really cool LDS girls. I loved what each of them had to say and I pondered at what it was that made each one of these girls special and unique and just plain cool in their own way. I have decided that it is the fact that they all have a divine heritage and that light just seems to radiate in all that they do.
Take for example my friend Michelle. Michelle is a BYU Cougars fan, and when I say fan, I mean fan! She gets a cut and she bleeds BYU blue! Michelle had a dream come true just recently as she had the opportunity to go to the BYU Football Women's Clinic in Provo, Utah. She got to meet the actual players and coach and spend some time in LaVelle Edward's Stadium.
Michelle knows just about everything there is about BYU football, she even wrote a Hubpage about them on Hubpages. She definitely has "passion" for the team, the sport, and the school, and she radiates this passion whenever she gets a chance.
I am not really a football fan my self, but I can respect Michelle for the love she has for her team, she is a real cool LDS girl.
Michelle and I have something in common however, and that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We both love the church and the gospel with as much passion as cool LDS girls can. She and I both love to study the scriptures and learn to better understand the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Even though we are different in some ways, we are the same in so many other ways that we share a great love for one another. I like to think it is because we are both cool LDS girls.
What do you think?

Michelle is most certainly a Kool LDS girl. I love learning about her passion for something that is positive. BYU Football is her love!
BYU represents all that is good, in education, sports and people.
Thank you for sharing with all of us, about Michelle - a totally KooLDSgirl-Z:-)

anyone who is a huge sports fan and knows a lot and has passion for a team is wonderful in my book. michelle is also really good at giving advice and being honest. good blog too!
@ a well behaved mormon woman- I think that BYU is an excellent choice for a University team to support. The students must agree to an Honor code to attend the school.
@louren steimle- I think that anyone who listens and make you a better person by being honest is a really cool girl. I know Michelle has that great quality as well!
Because you sound like a football fan, check out my new book called "Game-Day Goddess: Learning Football's Lingo." It's available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. For the person who wants to learn about football painlessly, this is the amusing, informative guide!

I've really noticed this similarity/diversity a lot these last 5 years or so from moving around so much. I may not have tons of things in common with everyone in my new wards, but the thing that will always bind us together is the gospel. That is really a blessing. We always have a common ground, which is the most precious thing in our lives. We are all so differnt, and that's just the way it's supposed to be :) That is part of the plan.
Rarely is my passion or as some call is obsession for BYU football praised or considered a good thing. But I am thankful for it. BYU football has taught me how to be loyal, honest, passionate, and knowledgeable(in football).
I'm slowly learning that diversity is good. I have a hard time dealing with others opinions when they differ from mine. But I'm trying to embrace those difference.
Thanks for the great post!
PS Thanks Lauren for the nice things you said about me!
